Even as a child I was interested in art. I would lie on the ground and watch the clouds go by searching for faces, animals, or objects. While in college I took art appreciation classes along with classes involving the study of the human body such as anatomy and kinesiology. After taking classes from local artists in Burbank, California, I began drawing using pencil and pen and ink. Upon moving to Lake Tahoe, I studied watercolor and began combining watercolor with my pen and ink drawings. Later I explored the three dimensional art of sculpting. I took classes at UCLA and enrolled in bronzing classes at Lake Tahoe Community College. It was at LTCC that I learned the entire bronzing process. I sculpted in wax, invested and poured pieces, and patinaed the sculptures. After moving to Goodyear, Arizona I began taking classes at the Scottsdale Art School where I had the opportunity to study under Cowboy Artist of America, John Coleman. My latest endeavor has been to carve stone, agate, and petrified wood and combine it with bronze pieces. It has been a challenge to carve the stone to emphasize its beauty and then sculpt the bronze to compliment the stone. It has always been my purpose to create art that has emotional impact and beautifies ones surroundings.
